Remember when I asked you to call your representative about Peace Corps funding? Well, it worked. I got an email today that said,
Thank you and congratulations! Because of our collective efforts, 124 House Members ultimately signed up in support of a $465 million operating budget for the Peace Corps in fiscal year 2011!
There’s still a lot of work to be done Congressional before there’s any money doled out, but
[t]o put this in perspective, 124 is, by far, the highest number of signatures on any letter to the State/Foreign Operations Appropriations subcommittee on any issue this year! If approved, this $65 million increase would be the largest dollar increase since 1961.
